After visiting a portrait studio with his new family and receiving lackluster images, Jay Kilgore decided to become a professional photographer. He jumped into shooting with both feet, landing four images in glamour magazines in his first two years. His photos continued to sell and soon Jay found himself teaching glamour photography to others.
In early 2008, after being published in 12 major fashion and glamour periodicals, Jay turned from shooting models and turned to what got him started in the first place: the family portrait.
Today, Jay stays very busy with his studio business, while still teaching glamour photography. And taking his own portraits of his family.

TESTIMONIAL:
“As a professional photographer, I’m expected to get the shot, and get it right the first time. I shoot a lot of moving subjects, from children to models and I don’t have the luxury of reshoots. When a shot is gone, it’s gone forever. I don’t trust that kind of pressure to any other strobe company. I’ve tried many different lights from many different companies, and at the end of the day, I chose Photogenic lights. I demand quality and I only trust Photogenic.
“I also do a lot of location work and must have lights that can take a beating. While teaching an outdoor workshop, I set up a light next to a brook, and was telling students that my Photogenic PowerLight was built like a tank, and could withstand almost anything. All of a sudden, it fell into the water. I knew it was a goner. But I let the light dry out thoroughly and gave it one last try. I don’t know if it was luck or something else, but to my surprise, my light powered right up. It not only flashed, but has flashed thousands of times since. After that experience, I can’t afford to use anything other than Photogenic.”
